How Coaching Works
Coaching is used to expand a talented individual’s repertoire of skills and competencies to build capacity and help one develop as a leader. Coaching is also used to help individuals identify opportunities and possible next steps in one’s career and life. Coaching is a tool for individuals and teams to see new possibilities and deliver with greater speed. For example, a coach can help an individual or a team:
-
Choose and commit to a new purpose or strategy
-
Find clarity of what the current reality is about by increasing awareness
-
Learn through practice and trying new things
Coaching is a deeply individualized experience. To understand how coaching works, I like to start with a complimentary conversation about what you’re working on, or what you’re looking for. We’ll ask each other questions, and learn if we’re a fit. If so, we’ll create an agreement, develop your focus and begin our work together.
